Wire Former

Our client came to us with some requirements for the manufacturing of his product. He has a patent on a clothing accessory that is basically made up of formed wire. Our engineers examined the product and did a product study to determine an automated sequence of operations that would yield a finished wire form fabrication at a rate of 30 parts per minute ready for post operations. Custom machines are all very different and all of them have various degrees of complicated challenges. Our expertise is in breaking down very complex design problems and simplifying them into controlled mechanical motions. These motions must be acheivable within the specified time rate. This machine we have defined as having a couple of precisely controlled servo axis and several strictly pneumatic operations. We will be programming a sophisticated touch screen user interface that will control all of these motions. Currently we are building CAD models and assembling them in upper level assembly models in the CAD system. We are analyzing each single operation station using the dynamic analysis tools in the CAD software. We can check the motions for interference with other mechanical components and the success of the result of that motion. We also do strength analysis of components that are subject to high stress and duty cycle. We are also keeping a close watch on the parts per minute rate. We hope to get design freeze from our client and begin build and debug of this machine within the coming weeks.
